Springtime MUD!

MUD! MUD! I LOVE MUD! I'M ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY WILD ABOUT MUD! I CAN'T GO AROUND IT - I HAVE TO GO THROUGH IT - BEAUTIFUL, MARVELOUS, ICKY, STICKY MUD!!!

They couldn't help it. I don't blame them...what worth would childhood hold if it didn't contain a little bit of mud? My kids made the most glorious mud pies and ended up in a mud fight. I cannot think of a better way to spend a spring afternoon.

Our First Sick Day of the Year

So, Xander and Garrett are BOTH home today, celebrating thier first sick day of the school year. Garrett spent the evening with dad watching the George Mason game in the emergency room getting stitches in his eyelid. Xander came down with strep throat. Eleanor was thrilled to have the extra attention and playmates. Sometimes mom can be sooooooooo boring!

I go for my first sonogram tomorrow morning. I am still trying to fully come to grips with the whole situation. I must admit, though , I am getting more excited.
Now that we have had the daylight savings time change, it seems like spring will really come. I love winter, but I love the snow and we have had a lot of gray, overcast cold days with nothing to show for it. So, now I am excited to plant our seeds and watch the hyacinths bloom in our yard. Since I am now "mother earth" with my state-of-the-art composters (mom calls them the Cadillac of composters) I shall see how the little garden will grow this year! It should be most enjoyable trying to garden 7-8 months pregnant!
