Catching up....

Another Snow Day.....Some people are complaining and sick of them....I am loving every minute of them. Waking up in the morning to the quiet, beautiful earth makes you take a deep breath and remember.....regroup.....regenerate.....refresh! I love crisp, clean and white anything, so a good snowfall is just the thing to start my day!
I thought January would slow down, but it seemed to speed up. I will catch up on all the events later. February is slower, maybe because of the snow days. We've cancelled church twice and this weekend they are expecting another 12-20 inches!

A claim to fame for Xander....

Xander got in the car yesterday and said, "Guess what mom!?!? I got bit by a snake at school today!"
And being the coolest mom in the universe that I am, paused for a long minute since he was breathing fine and didn't show any trauma or ill side effects and then said, "AWESOME! No one else in school can say that, can they?"

He has a snake in his classroom and his friend, Angela, dropped the food in the cage and asked Xander to pick it up and finish feeding the snake. He said he felt it lick him and then went and sat at his desk. He told the teacher he felt the snake lick his finger and showed it to her, only to find blood on his finger. They rushed him upstairs to the science teacher who told them to go to the nurse who then put something on it and wrapped it in a bandage.
I guess all the kids were in the hall "freaking out" when he went upstairs to the science teachers room. All the fifth grade knew in .0005 seconds. It was exhilarating, I'm sure to have everyone wanting to know what happened and did it hurt. He, of course, is fine. I just hope the snake is ok!

A Sunday to be Grateful.....

I am grateful for a warm house that keeps us safe from these subzero temperatures we are having in the east coast...

For cute babies with big brown eyes who like to snuggle.... For little girls who love to have their hair done and wear all matching clothes and still like to snuggle.....
For two sons who are loving and responsible and good big brothers.....
And for a husband who for the last two weeks has been home and helped and loved and just been wonderful.....Tomorrow they all go back to school and I have mixed feelings....
I have loved having them here and the relaxed atmosphere we have had. Lots of playtime, downtime, and just togetherness. I am also ready to get back to a routine and get things organized, scoured and start on some much needed projects.....at least we have a Monday holiday in a few weeks!

My most important New Year's Resolution....

“No matter what you read or hear, no matter
what the differences of circumstances you observe in the lives
of women about you, it is important for you Latter-day Saint women
to understand that the Lord holds motherhood and
mothers sacred and in the highest esteem.
He has entrusted to his daughters the
great responsibility of bearing and nurturing children.

“Much is said about the drudgery and the confinement of the
woman’s role in the home.
In the perspective of the gospel it is not so.
There is divinity in each new life. There is challenge
in creating the environment in which a child can
grow and develop. There is partnership between
the man and woman in building a family
which can last throughout the eternities.”
- Spencer W. Kimball
