We woke up on Mother's Day and as I was fixing the girls' hair, I noticed those pesky bugs called lice. I HATE lice. I don't know how we keep getting it, but we do. It creeps me out and makes my life a living nightmare for days!!! I'm seriously considering not bathing my children, since they tend to like clean hair! But, there they were. We didn't find any nits, but church was out of the question!
Since I am the primary song leader, I HAD to go to church. I had the primary children singing and also another special musical number I had prepared with some moms and their children. That left Jason to take care of business! Poor guy! They immediately started stripping beds, applying the lice treatment to everyone, checking heads, starting the laundry on hot water, etc.
I, on the other hand, went to church by myself on Mother's day. The songs were fabulous, though, so it wasn't too bad! We were supposed to go to Jason's parent's house and celebrate Mother's day and Garrett and Dad's birthday and my nephew, Zorig's birthday. That, obviously was not happening! So, on the way home from church, I decided we were going on a picnic in the Shenandoah Valley. When I got home, we packed a lunch and some lawn chairs and took off!
It was the best decision! We had such a great time and it was so relaxing!
We found a great picnic spot and spread out and ate and just had a great time! Here's the proof.....
Savannah loves to be outdoors. She took several little nature walks by herself nearby and picked the yellow flowers, her favorite color!
A game of football started......
It was so quiet and peaceful and so amazingly beautiful! I just sat and looked at the beauty of the forrest.
I love this kid......
And this one....
Sunday afternoon wouldn't be complete without a game of Boggle!!!
Grandpa Johnnie and the girls and I went on a walk and learned how to "knock" on the door of the bugs before disturbing them. We found some amazing bugs and they had so much fun!
Yellow flowers from my Sweet Savannah!
It was a great Mother's day! I am so blessed!
