My heart is full this evening.
I have been able to take this evening and relax and work on a special project for the Relief Society. It is a spin off from an exercise I have loved for years called, "A Fortnight Walk with Christ." It is basically fourteen days of learning about Christ and journaling about your feelings.
When we met as a presidency, we talked about how the sisters could learn how to stand in holy places better. I suggested this exercise and volunteered to "tweak" it to make it fit our needs.
So, all evening, I have been reading and immersing myself in positive thoughts and talks and scriptures and quotes. I have needed this.
We will present it on Mother's Day to the sisters in our ward. On the first Sunday in June, we will have our Visiting Teaching Conference and talk about how to Stand in Holy Places as a Visiting Teacher. Several sisters will report on the activity that we are giving them and bear their testimonies about this.
It has been humbling to try and figure out what to put in the packet, what subject matter needs to be said for every day.
My hopes for this are that each sister will learn that wherever they stand is a holy place. With the influence of the spirit and their desire to be better, they will automatically be witnesses of Christ and the light of Christ will show through them.
I was very sad to leave primary and I still miss it terribly, but I have needed this spiritual nourishment. I have needed to be reminded to refuel and regroup. I have needed to be reminded to be a better mom, a better wife, a kinder person.
Sitting in my pi's writing this packet has been good.
How grateful I am for a loving Heavenly Father who reminds me that I am worth it.
One of the quotes I used tonight will be going on my wall. It reads:
"If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely."
Roald Dahl
May we have good thoughts this evening and forever......
